I drive for Lyft and I have a problem in the winter that never happens in the summer. I have my phone mounted on the dash and even though I keep the heat on the floor vent enough heat still comes out the top vent that after I've been on the road a few hours my phone gets really hot. When my phone gets too hot the GPS doesn't work right. It will stall and freeze up, or it can't figure out where I am or which way I'm going, sometimes I will make a turn but it will think I'm still going straight and then reroute me, only to figure it out and go back to the original route. I have a Samsung Galaxy Avant, I use Google maps, I usually drive at night so I keep the screen brightness at the lowest setting, and since the GPS is such a power drain my phone stays plugged in through my whole shift, and there really isn't anywhere else I could mount my phone, I need it to be within my field of view for smooth navigation. Short of buying a new phone I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to a solution.
