hello trying to see if lyft is worth the expense, I want to try the rental route, it will cost 260.00 to rent a car for the week, trying to see if there will be enough income coming in to cover the rental for the week.
is there a place on the app that shows customer volume in an area?

There's no way to get a peak at demand before you sign up. But in general, if your city is busy you'll pick up quite a few rides. If not, might not be worth it.
I believe Lyft will nix the rental fees if you drive enough hours, that's an option worth considering as well.

I'm taking advantage of the rental program offered in Detroit and picking up my Chevy Equinox this Friday! I have to complete 50 rides a week to get my rental fee waved ($230! So that's quite an incentive to drive!). They pay maintenance and insurance too! Sounds like a win win! I don't have to deal with wear and tear on my own car, and they take the vehicle back periodically for cleaning and maintenance. Hope it's as good as it sounds
