Most of us drivers here have been at this for a while. What are a few good pieces of advice for new Lyft drivers?

Get a phone mount and learn how to use Waze or Google Maps. Pick you favorite navigation app between the two. You need the phone mount so that you can see the directions without constantly holding your phone, this is real important.

I gave my first few rides without a phone mount, I missed a few turns because I couldn't focus on the maps app and the road. So I realized quickly that I needed one, driving has been smooth since.

I would also recommend letting passengers no that you're new. Most passengers for Lyft are understanding, it's not like Uber where they treat you like the help. I made a few mistakes my first few rides but because I was upfront about being new it didn't hurt my rating.

Don't quit your day job. Driving with Lyft or Uber are great supplemental income, but I wouldn't recommend it full time.

Have a good time out there. Don't take it too seriously, enjoy meeting some new people and listen to what they have to say. The job can be quite a bit of fun when you relax and get to know people.
